After the tragic crash a few days ago on the Sassari-Olbia highway , which cost the life of 44-year-old doctor Ciriaco Meloni, another road accident was caused by the presence of wild boars on the road.
It happened in the early hours of the morning, along State Road 387, at km 80+500, towards San Vito–Ballao. Here, a 20-year-old lost control of his car after a wild boar suddenly ran across the road. The car went off the road, and the 20-year-old was injured.
The animal apparently took refuge in the nearby countryside without any trace of it being found.
After the alarm was raised, the Carabinieri from the San Vito station and the company's mobile radio unit, along with 118 medical personnel and the Fire Brigade, responded to the scene. They provided first aid to the driver, who was rushed to the hospital, and secured the area.
