A new fire has broken out in Arzana. The flames are re-erupting in the area already affected by the massive blaze that burned approximately 200 hectares of woodland between Arzana and Elini last Friday. The alarm was raised this morning, around 6:15 a.m., when the Lanusei fire department responded to a brush fire in the Arzana countryside, in the Fontana Ona area.
The firefighters quickly reached the area and worked to contain the flames, preventing the new outbreak from spreading further.
The intervention concluded with the extinguishing of the fire and the subsequent remediation of the site, necessary to verify the presence of any further outbreaks and secure the area.
Meanwhile, while the Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation, Arst reports that the Sardinian Green Train service has been temporarily suspended on the Arbatax-Lanusei route.
