Thefts and damage to public property of the Ga.se.co Surl, a municipal company of the municipality of Arzachena which presented formal complaints for several episodes that occurred between 20 and 30 June in various points of the municipal area.

The sprinklers and electric control units of the automatic irrigation systems installed in the municipal green areas are targeted by vandals and thieves.

The thefts and damage involved the traffic islands at the crossroads of Lu Ciaccaru, Cannigione, San Pantaleo. And again, in the gardens of the Riva Azzurra park, in the churchyard of the church of Santa Lucia and in the one in front of the hotel institute at the west entrance of Arzachena.

The material value of the equipment, explains the municipal company, exceeds 500 euros, but " the inconveniences in the care of the areas and in the organization of the maintenance service of the green " greatly increase the quantification of the damage.

These are just "the latest episodes of a long series", says the mayor of Arzachena Roberto Ragnedda, "actions that demonstrate a great lack of civic sense , damage the entire community and subtract resources from other investments". Furthermore, explains the mayor, most of the areas in question are equipped with cameras, so the images "will be acquired by the police in the hope of tracing the perpetrators as soon as possible".
