In the new regional council no one from Oristano has been appointed to represent the territory. An aspect that worries the CISL of Oristano which, with its secretary Alessandro Perdisci, hopes that «despite this gap, the new executive can still implement a development policy to support the Oristano area as a whole and its internal areas and peripherals".

The secretary underlines in a note that «to date the Region has not considered the issue of rebalancing between the different areas of the island as a priority, sometimes it has appeared that the resources have been distributed in the territories on the basis of the internal power relations of the different majorities that governed Sardinia. On the contrary, we hope that the distribution of resources will take place on the basis of criteria that allow equal opportunities for development and growth to materialize."

Due to its potential and its location, the Oristano area can become an added value for the entire island. «The absence of one of its representatives in the new regional council cannot be a handicap in the distribution of development projects and financial resources, both in sectoral terms and in reference to the areas involved».

The CISL assures that it will ensure that the new regional council is committed to supporting all areas of the island, in particular with development projects and programs for the areas most in difficulty. «It is necessary to initiate serious integrated planning, with adequate financial resources, to reverse the trend of socio-economic decline in the weakest territories and in particular in the Oristano area – concludes Perdisci – we ask the president Alessandra Todde to enhance dialogue and discussion with the representatives social networks of the territory, to be able to fully realize the potential of the region as a whole".
