Two shots from a 12-gauge shotgun, loaded with buckshot, exploded at close range that killed Riccardo Muceli, the 38-year-old farmer from Gairo killed Wednesday evening in a car while returning home from the sheepfold in Pelau, in the Municipality of Jerzu.

This is what emerged from the autopsy performed today by the coroner Nicola Lenigno, in the Lanusei hospital. The shot exploded against the farmer's shoulder was fatal: some of the seven buckshot found penetrated the ribcage and lungs causing a haemorrhagic shock. One of the two blows, on the other hand, pierced the left arm perhaps raised by the breeder in the last attempt to defend himself.

A single weapon would have been used to fire, probably a shotgun. The death was not immediate: Muceli was still alive when the rescuers arrived.

The ballistic material found during the autopsy will be entrusted to the Ris of Cagliari for the technical investigations of the case which will be able to trace the weapon that fired.

Meanwhile, the investigations of the soldiers of the Carabinieri Company of Jerzu continue, coordinated by the Lanusei prosecutor Gualtiero Battisti in search of any possible clue to track down the killer. The prosecutor has already ordered the return of the body to family members. Muceli's funeral will be celebrated tomorrow in Gairo.
