Alfredo Cospito transferred from Sassari to Opera: "But the hunger strike will continue"
The anarchist at 41 bis has been refusing food for over 100 days
Alfredo Cospito was transferred to the Opera penitentiary in Milan. The news was given by the lawyer of the anarchist imprisoned until a few hours ago under 41 bis in the maximum security prison of Bancali.
For more than 100 days on hunger strike , the decision to move was taken by the prison administration department.
From what has emerged, Cospito will be hospitalized in the pavilion of the Intensified Assistance Service of the prison facility in consideration of his state of health, said the lawyer, Flavio Rossi Albertini, specifying that "he will not accept food supplies and will certainly continue the hunger strike".
«The only novelty of this transfer is that in the Opera structure they have specialists able to intervene promptly in case of emergency», adds Rossi Albertini.
Al Sai is intended for prisoners suffering from serious illnesses. Yesterday Cospito's trusted doctor, Angelica Milia, had argued that the prisoner was at "fibrillation risk", in consideration of his weight loss, and had requested his transfer.
In recent weeks there have been numerous demonstrations and protests by supporters of the anarchist to call for the harsh prison regime to be revoked.
