Important investment package for the redevelopment of Sardinian water networks by Abbanoa, which has launched 33 tenders involving various Sardinian municipalities.

These are the countries involved in the investment, which totals 27 million euros : Alghero, Assemini, Arzachena, Bosa (2 lots), Budoni, Cagliari, Carbonia, Galtellì, Iglesias (2 lots), Irgoli, La Maddalena, Macomer ( 2 lots), Muravera, Nuoro, Olbia, Orosei (2 lots), Oristano, Ozieri, Porto Torres, Quartucciu, Santa Teresa Gallura, San Teodoro, Sarroch, Sassari (2 lots), Selargius, Sestu, Siniscola and Sorso .

These are resources that the company has obtained through the European Fund for Development and Cohesion (FSC): «It is a program that forms part of a broader strategy», explains the president of Abbanoa Franco Piga , «aimed at countering the criticalities present in most of the island's water networks. In this way, a strategic project to improve the efficiency of the water networks is launched through the use of technologically advanced systems ».

All 33 new tenders will be awarded by December. Another 39 tenders, for a total amount of a further 38 million euros, also relating to FSC funds, will be announced and awarded by 30 June 2023.

The first seven tenders awarded in this package all went to Sardinian companies .
