"There's news that leaves you breathless, that you can't comprehend and that breaks your heart." Words of sorrow for the death of Cinzia Pinna , the 33-year-old from Castelsardo, killed by the self-confessed businessman from Arzachena, Emanuele Ragnedda . One of her friends, Serena Mura , wrote them on social media.
" Today I lost a friend, and with her a part of the memories that had bound us . It's hard to accept that she will no longer be here, that life can end so suddenly, leaving a void that nothing can fill. Your life was cut short in a cruel and unjust way , and this hurts even more. It's terrible to think that sometimes danger can come from the very people closest to you, from those who should protect you and not destroy you," she thinks.
There is deep grief in the community of Castelsardo, which, after days of anguish and apprehension, is facing the tragic news of Cinzia Pinna's death. A murder that wine entrepreneur Ragnedda confessed to committing with a firearm at his Conca Entosa estate, in the area between Arzachena and Palau.
The town, which had mobilized for the search, has fallen silent. "The entire town of Castelsardo is shocked and stunned by the news of Cinzia's tragic passing," commented the mayor of Castelsardo. "Her violent death has deeply shaken our community, which held out hope for a different outcome until the very end, as witnessed by the many volunteers involved in the search. On behalf of the entire administration and all the citizens, I can only express my deepest condolences," she continued, "and my deepest sympathy to Cinzia's family, a family known and respected by all. Castelsardo joins them in this moment of immense grief with a silent and emotional embrace, full of solidarity. What happened is certainly unprecedented and leaves a deep wound in our community ."
Tomorrow, Thursday, September 24, starting at 9:00 PM, a torchlight procession will take place through the streets of the town . It was organized by Don Pietro Denicu, parish priest of the Cathedral of Sant'Antonio Abate, "to say no to violence and yes to the life we must protect." The procession will depart from the Church of the Crucifix and arrive in Piazza del Novecentenario, amidst a choral silence from the entire community, especially the young people . The parish priest invites everyone to gather around Cinzia's family: her father Renato, her mother Diana, and her sister Carlotta, who had made heartfelt appeals after the woman's disappearance. "Let us become each other's guardians because everything else is merely a fleeting gift that time consumes," said Don Denicu. The priest expressed his closeness to the family, who are well-known and respected restaurateurs in Castelsardo.
