In the Gulf of Cagliari there is a German bomb from the Second World War: it contains 300 kilos of explosives. It is located off the coast of Capitana, about three miles from the coast, on the seabed at a depth of 38 metres.

Tomorrow, on the orders of the Prefecture of Cagliari, the divers of the Underwater Operations Group (Gos) of the Navy's underwater and raider command (Comsubin), detached to the SDAI (Mine Clearance Defense Against Insidious Vehicles) Unit in Cagliari, will conduct delicate underwater operations.

Under the coordination of the naval second lieutenant Francesco Alò, the device will be slung and lifted, to then be towed to a safety area, «determined by the competent maritime authority, for definitive neutralization through blasting by means of a specific counter-charge explosive, with consolidated procedures of Navy divers aimed at absolute respect of the marine ecosystem", the Navy says.
