In the end, the "red carpet" is all for him, Ugo Humbert. The least favorite of the day before conquers the Sardegna Open Challenger 175 on the red clay of Tc Cagliari.

A dutiful and well-deserved act: his title against the Serbian Laslo Djere after three hours of the game (6-4, 5-7, 4-6).
Ready to go, the final begins and the first twenty minutes are dominated by the left-handed player from Metz, who starts immediately 3-0, although - in reading the statistics of 6-4 - the difference between the two players is only one break (in seventh game). In the end the first set belongs to the Serbian. Who also comes back in the second set (again from 3-0) but this time the Frenchman finds more solidity on serve and from the baseline and wins the second match 7-5.

In the third one fights point to point, the second game (the longest of the match) goes on for 14 minutes: that's what Djere needs to extend to 2-0. That seems to be the moment in which the Frenchman "is finished", as a fan says in the crowded stands of the Tc Cagliari. Instead we fight point by point until the Frenchman's counterbreak in the sixth game.

At 4-4 the decisive draw: the French runs at 5-4, when he returns to the field he breaks the Serbian's serve and becomes champion.

«I'm happy – Humbert said at the award ceremony -, thanks to my team and the Cagliari crowd who supported me throughout the tournament. Thanks to their support, I have also found energy that was lost during the week».
