After the publication of the tenders to entrust the design services, the program - with three-year interventions - for the construction of new hydroelectric energy production plants and the redevelopment of the works of the Regional Multisector Water System (SIMR) comes to life in Sardinia .

Works and Infrastructures of Sardinia, OIS, as the implementing body of ten works, will select the designers who will have the task of preparing the technical and economic feasibility project: The objective, explained Aldo Salaris, regional councilor for public works, is that of "freeing the multisectoral water sector from the use of energy of fossil origin and achieving economic balance for the energy item".

The projects financed include the construction of a hydroelectric storage plant in the Cantoniera and Pranu Antoni dam system (€ 1,000,000 loan, € 190,000 design); the mini-hydroelectric one for energy recovery at the Santa Lucia dam (intervention 750,000, design 167,500); the construction of a mini-hydroelectric plant for energy recovery in the connection between the Alto Temo reservoir and the Cuga reservoir (loan € 2,000,000, design 334,700); the mini-hydroelectric plant with energy recovery downstream of the existing Monteleone Rocca Doria lifting plant that connects the Alto Temo reservoir with that of Bidighinzu (loan € 1,000,000; design 220,000); the mini-hydroelectric plant with energy recovery at the release point on the Coraxis compensation tank (loan € 1,000,000, design 205,000); the construction of a mini-hydroelectric plant for energy recovery obtainable from water transfers between the Ponte Valenti crossbar and the Bidighinzu reservoir (loan of € 8,000,000, design 282,300); the construction of a storage hydroelectric plant between the Monte Poni and Punta Gennarta reservoirs (loan of € 19,000,000, design 639,000); the construction of a hydroelectric plant with energy recovery from the volumes transferred between the Sa Forada de S'Acqua dam and the Ichnusa tower (loan 780,000; design 179,000); the construction of an energy recovery hydroelectric plant downstream of the Cuga dam (€ 1,000,000 loan, design 220,000); the construction of a hydroelectric plant to recover energy from the planned water transfers between the Medau Zirimilis area and the Bau Pressiu reservoir (loan 450,000; project 122,500).
