"It's not right to think about next season, we've done a good job in this one. We want to get more points and make a good impression, as we've done for large parts of this season. This is the way to then think about the next one in the best way, we talk a lot among ourselves but I'm focused on the present". Kosta Runjaic said this in a press conference, presenting tomorrow's preview of his Udinese in Cagliari.
"Of course a good result, like the one we got against a team in form like Bologna, helps everyone, we played a good game and we deserved this point. However, the way we are communicating in the group hasn't changed: I don't work based on results. Now we face Cagliari in a stadium that will be full, a beautiful atmosphere: we have to confirm ourselves and collect more points".
Regarding the unavailable players, in addition to Lucca and Thauvin, Ehizibue and Payero will be missing due to suspension, "and we don't even know 100% if we can count on Ekkelenkamp", the German coach clarified, "Davis, however, is getting better and better and Sanchez could also have a chance: he sent a positive message this week, I see everything, I monitor everyone, even those who don't play. El Nino is ready to play, I know, and he could have his chance".
On the match tactics, the Friulian coach recalled that «in general, during the season, our approach has been to stay high, putting pressure on the opponents right away. However, against Bologna we were also very compact, they are one of the best teams in ball possession and we needed some adjustments to defuse them. I expect a similar match, we will have to apply our basic principles, we could have more ball possession, this is what we want. The focus, however, now is to play in the right way to get a good result against Cagliari too».
