Romina Falconi looks like a fairy. So ethereal, ironic, free like a butterfly. Certainly unique in the Italian music scene, this 37-year-old Roman singer-songwriter who, she says, has always "felt a bit strange". «And so – she explains – I said to myself “I make even what I do look strange”».

And what he's doing, or rather, what he's doing in this period, is a wonderful project that in 2023 will lead to a brand new album, "Rottincuore", a gallery of wicked characters, made wrong, broken hearts.

To anticipate it is a series of singles accompanied by "Rottocalco", a book that is the explanation of the song. And if Rottocalco vol 1 has already been released to accompany “La nun” now “Rottocalco vol. 2” accompanies “Werewolf”. And Romina will come to present them on Saturday 3 December, on the occasion of the firmacopie tour, in Cagliari at the Fico d'India at 8.30pm.

"I'm so happy. Coming to Sardinia is like going to the playground. It's my home and when I go back to Rome I've gained 2-3 kilos. Those of Fico d'India have always been friends, they are like my family. And this is a hospitable and welcoming land».

Confess Romina, this is truly a magical moment for her.

“Yes, and I would never have said that. I'm independent and anyone who is must work the deck. There are no certainties but let's say that this is a historical period in which the niche, so to speak, is rewarded. When they choose you, they really choose you."

"Rottocalco vol 1" was dedicated to betrayal and revenge, vol 2 instead?

“It is dedicated to the void, to howls in the void. Sometimes you want to scream but then the scream stays inside you. And it's dedicated to toxic positivity, being positive is not synonymous with being a winner. There has to be a time to process the bad things in life. And finally, it is dedicated to Impostor Syndrome, always feeling undeserving, as if you had robbed your grandmother».

How did “Werewolf” come to your mind?

«It is one of the monsters that I like the most. I've always been intrigued by the fact that he needs the moon to become a monster."

In this Vol 2 he even does the trial of God.

"I invented an 11-year-old girl who wakes up and puts God on trial. Each of us has asked ourselves questions at least once in our lives."

Who are the Heartbreakers?

“They are sinners, people who are sinning against themselves. I wanted to take a picture of the human being at the moment when he is wrong but is convinced he is right».

Sanremo and X Factor. What did they leave her?

«We will celebrate beautiful things. I was a little girl who played in piano bars and Baudo chose me. I was like Cinderella at the ball. One of the best memories of my life. X Factor instead was a sad experience. When I arrived I had already done Sanremo and a world tour with Eros. There you feel like a lab rat. They shaved my hair, dressed as a man, and what memory can I have? Let's say that I lived it as my father lived in the military».
