Regionals, there is no agreement on the candidate: risk of a rift in the centre-right
Solinas came to the table with two lists that would support him, in addition to Lega and Psd'Az. FdI insists on Truzzu, other parties in the coalition are divided and the positions seem increasingly distant
The centre-right regional table meeting at Palazzo Tirso in Cagliari risks continuing for a long time to come, especially if the intention remains to reach unanimity on a name. An objective which - after two hours of summit - seems very distant.
Lega and Psd'Az, in fact, are adamant about continuity with a Solinas-bis. The secretary of the Psd'Az even showed up at the meeting with representatives of two lists that would support him if he were the candidate: "Solinas president" and "Sardi al centro". And, even during the meeting, Michele Pais of the League convincingly reiterated his support for the outgoing governor.
In any case, the name of the mayor of Cagliari Paolo Truzzu (FdI) is officially on the table, made by the coordinator Antonella Zedda and the deputy Gianni Lampis. Name representing the discontinuity.
In the first round of declarations - which ended just now due to a break - the representatives of Sardinia at Centro 20Venti, Stefano Tunis and Antonello Peru, also spoke and confirmed their intention not to support Solinas, Riformatori, Udc, Forza Italia, Rotondi's DC and DC of Cuffaro. According to what emerges, Cuffaro's DC (represented by Marcello Orrù, former Sardinian councilor) expressed itself in favor of Solinas. The Reformers posed the problem of the legitimacy of national acronyms to make a decision at the regional table. Cappellacci of FI made it clear that he has it but as long as the decision is unitary. The UDC has it and in the name of discontinuity. The League is equally entitled to decide, Pais recalled.
Given the way things have turned out, however, a rift between the Psd'Az and the League cannot be ruled out if the table ultimately converges on Truzzu.
The meeting resumed. Now Giovanni Satta of Alleanza Sardegna, the movement that has just emerged from the Great Centre, will speak. Which could also propose a third name.
Meanwhile, before the restart there was a bilateral discussion between Solinas and Antonella Zedda: the results could be brought to the table.
