The gap in votes between Alessandra Todde, candidate for governor of Campo Largo and winner "in pectore" of the elections in Sardinia , and her centre-right rival Paolo Truzzu is narrowing . And the hypothesis of a possible recount of the ballots is being suggested in many quarters.

Currently, with 1825 sections out of the 1844 officially counted so far (the Court is dealing with the missing 19), Todde has 331,109 votes on his side against Truzzu's 328,494. A difference of 2,615 votes which from last Sunday to today would have gradually been reduced by at least half. And according to sources from Fatto Quotidiano - which also cites "Pd exponents" - the gap was even reduced to 800 or even 650 votes. The greatest uncertainties, from what is filtered, would be linked to four sections in Sassari city and two in Gallura.

Enough to make Gianfranco Rotondi, leader of the “Christian Democrats with Rotondi” who supported Truzzu, write on Facebook: «My nose as a Christian Democrat tells me that in a few hours we will talk about Sardinia again and the two thousand votes of the DC with Rotondi will be a lot, much appreciated...". A cryptic phrase (but not too much) which however shows how the centre-right does not lack confidence in the fact that the "gap" of consensus between Todde and Truzzu can shorten further.

The ballots judged void will be decisive - also and above all. Todde, of course, would only need one more vote, but, in the event of an even smaller gap, the centre-right could politically leverage a "narrow" defeat, reducing the centre-left's result to a "narrow" victory. Furthermore, in the event of a recount, the time required for the establishment of the new council and the new regional council would inevitably be prolonged.
