The a cappella version of “No potho reposare” that eroCaddeo staged and set to music with the voices of the Coro Carrales is out on YouTube.
If the setting, the 18th-century Hall of the Cagliari University Library, is evocative, even more so is the performance of Giuseppe Rachel's masterpiece, based on the poetry of Salvatore Sini, one of the symbols of Sardinian tradition. That is, without musical instruments and with only the powerful voice of the singer-songwriter from Sinnai, runner-up at X Factor 2025, and his extraordinary backing vocalists.
"In these months," Damiano Caddeo wrote on Instagram, " Sardinia has given me the affection of a mother for her child, the unconditional kind that asks nothing in return. We Sardinians are like that: when one of us gets involved, then we all get involved, and like a family, we act as a sail if the wind blows and an umbrella if it rains heavily."
So, " with deep respect and equal love I included this song as the last track on my album , and with the same feelings, together with the Carrales Choir we interpreted this tribute."
The direction and photography are by Michele Garau, producer Gaia Lampis.
Choir members: Daniele Ledda, Giuseppe Mannu, Claudio Podda, Leonardo Forgione, Gianfranco Motzo, Riccardo Blu Bonaldi, Tommaso Vargiu, Francesco Emanuele Deplano, Dario Manca, Marco Manolo Manca, Simone Farci, Niccolò Ledda, Nicola Cogoni, Efisio Cambuli, Gianluca Feola, Raimondo Gaviano, and Augusto Mola. Choir harmonization and direction are by Giuseppe Altea.
The video just posted on YouTube is already a huge success: "You really are so talented," writes one user. "If you stay humble and down to earth, no one can stop you."
