"A Bolu" , the docufilm on canto a tenore, arrives on Netflix.

From 17 September the work in Sardinian language, conceived and directed by Davide Melis, written with Sebastiano Pilosu, will be broadcast on the platform.

"Poetry is beautiful to sing it, but the tenor paints it": it is a passage from the documentary that in 100 minutes gives "voice", in a dialogue between generations, to those who keep alive the tradition of the suggestive four-voice singing.

Made in 2018, it represents a choral story about this intangible cultural asset protected by UNESCO: it is built through singing, dialogues, images of spectacular landscapes taken from above, aboard a helicopter.

The protagonists are the Tenor Supramonte from Orgosolo, Su Hussertu from Mamoiada, Su Cuntratu from Seneghe, Santa Maria di Ottana, Sa Niera di Pattada, Nunnale di Orune, Santu Pretu di Loculi, Santa Caterina di Dorgali, Santa Rosulia di Benetutti.

Cuntratu Santa Maria di Seneghe, Sant'Elena di Dorgali and Sos Isteddos di Pattada also offer their testimony.

"For us it is a source of pride that a film completely in Sardinian has an international distribution like Netflix - commented Davide and Luca Melis, director and producer - and that one of the most authentic and ancient cultural expressions in Sardinia is broadcast on the most widespread platform world of films and videos ".

Poetry also plays a central role in this multi-vocal chant. The tenor interprets it by adapting the melody and the most appropriate form, choosing the most suggestive and musically effective verses.
