Psd'Az-Lega against FdI, the showdown in the centre-right
The Melonians stop the hypothesis of Solinas bis, the Four Moors: «A retaliation linked to dynamics in Trentino, their choices lead to defeat». The Milia association was born on the leftPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
In the Sardinian center-right (and not only) the time has come for the showdown between FdI on one side and Lega-Psd'Az on the other. Brothers of Italy, through a note from Senator Antonella Zedda, vetoed a re-nomination of Christian Solinas as President of the Region: «There are no longer the conditions to support a second mandate», stated the Melonian, underlining the need of the convening of a coalition meeting to organize the defeat "of a confused centre-left".
The president of Psd'Az
Soon, in defense of the governor, came the position of the Sardinian president and regional transport councilor, Antonio Moro: « Brothers of Italy, in Sardinia, is an integral part of the regional council and with its esteemed representative in within the executive it has always voted on the measures included on the agenda which have always been approved unanimously", prefaces the Quattro Mori exponent. Which then moves on to a personal statement: «It certainly cannot be considered news that the regional coordinator of the Fratelli d'Italia party has, on several occasions, through decisions and conduct not shared by the rest of the political forces, split the centre-right-civic-Sardista coalition. As demonstrated by the administrative elections held in Capoterra, Iglesias or Assemini, in which the choices of the FdI coordinator have, in fact, led her party to defeat".
A blow that serves as a prelude to the national contextualization of the position taken by Giorgia Meloni's party: «The Psd'Az», concludes Moro, «in light of what is happening in Trentino in these hours, where FdI has withdrawn its representatives from the Council Fugatti, firmly rejects the ongoing attempt to use Sardinia as retaliation against the League for an unresolved issue of seats within the autonomous province of Trento".
The reference is to the rift in the northern Italian region, where on 22 October the Northern League member Maurizio Fugatti made an encore. The pre-electoral agreement between Fdi, Lega and Forza Italia provided that, in the event of victory, the vice-presidency of the Council would go to the Melonian Francesca Gerosa. Fugatti did not give her the delegation and FdI left the Council, ensuring only external support.
The mayor of Cagliari
In Sardinia only the Four Moors and the League are united around Solinas, with leader Matteo Salvini who in recent days confirmed his full support for the outgoing president.
All on one Saturday, anyway. In Cagliari, mayor Paolo Truzzu yesterday called a convention to take stock of his 4 and a half year mandate at the helm of the city. The deputy of his party, Salvatore Deidda, was also there: "It is legitimate that Paolo, after what was done in Cagliari", said the parliamentarian, "is a candidate for the presidency of the Region".
The opponents
In the centre-left, meanwhile, Alessandra Todde received the standing ovation of the activists of the 5 Star Movement gathered in Tramatza, with an applause that also involved the five-star regional councilors present.
But something else is moving. The mayor of Quartu Graziano Milia continues to declare that he does not intend to run in any way. In the meantime, however, the birth of the "political and cultural" association "Rinascita Sardegna", chaired by him, has been announced. The ten founding members, we read in a note, «signed the deed of incorporation and approved the statute. After an extensive debate, the steering committee was elected and will be chaired by Salvatore Murgioni." The association will be officially presented during an assembly open to all which will be held on Thursday 7 December at 5.30 pm at Caesar's Hotel in Cagliari. The motto? "It's never too late for a new beginning."
