The pace of Sanremo announcements is accelerating, now one a day.

The latest is that of Pilar Fogliati: the name of the Roman actress had been circulating for a while but was finally made official by Carlo Conti.

"It will be on the late evening with Achille Lauro and Lillo as co-hosts, on Wednesdays," the artistic director told Fiorello live on Rai Radio 2 at La Pennicanza.

As for the next name in the running, Eros Ramazzotti: "I don't know yet. I've read a lot, I even read Madonna duetting with Patty Pravo, I've read tons, but this is Sanremo..."

Fogliati, 33, grew up in Rome and owes her name María del Pilar to her paternal grandmother, an Argentine of Polish origin, who emigrated to South America with her family before the war.

A graduate of the National Academy of Dramatic Arts, she has acted in dozens of films and television shows. Her latest credits include Paolo Genovese's "Follemente" and Ludovica Rampoldi's "Breve storia d'amore."
