The Minister of Ecological Transition Roberto Cingolani signed the implementing decree on the so-called “ Energy Release ”, with important news for Sardinian companies, in particular those of the Sulcis pole.

The provision provides for the sale, through auctions, of part of the energy produced at a controlled price of 210 euros per MWh . A price that has more than halved since today, the minister explained, is "around 450 euros per MWh".

Among the priority final customers are industrial ones, SMEs, companies located in Sardinia and Sicily and the so-called "energy-intensive" companies with high energy consumption.

The contracts will last until 31 December 2025, within 20 days all the procedures for the assignment and withdrawal of energy will be defined.

A breath of fresh air for companies that are shutting down their plants, such as Portovesme srl which announced the stop at 90% of production with consequent layoffs for about a thousand workers.

The measure is coupled with the extension of the recognition, for energy-intensive gas-intensive companies, of a tax credit equal to 40% of the costs incurred for the energy component purchased and used in October and November 2022.

Undersecretary Alessandra Todde points out that Sardinian and Sicilian companies will have a priority " three times higher " than those in the rest of Italy and speaks of an "important first step, not decisive but allows energy-intensive companies to be able to plan".

"Now - underlines instead the deputy Pd Romina Mura - the new government will have to deal with the island gap".
