A special goal, the one against Ascoli. First of all, because he gave Cagliari the overtaking in a match that had gone terribly wrong in the first half. And then because it allowed Marco Mancosu, born in Cagliari, to reach his 100th professional career goal.

Mancosu has always scored, from Serie A to C, starting, curiously, from Ascoli, the team against which, wearing the Cagliari shirt, he made his professional debut on 27 May 2007.

And the rossoblù number 5 celebrated this milestone with a long post on Instagram.

«From Ascoli to Ascoli, from the first to the hundredth. I cared so much about this goal that it made itself desired, as it should be. I was a Johannes kid with an incredible passion for football and it has remained intact until today, that same passion has led me to reach this goal of which I am tremendously proud because it arrived amid a thousand difficulties and three different categories. Impossible in this case not to mention Lecce and Cagliari, my favorite teams, thank you! I'll close with something that for someone will have little to do with it, but for me it means a lot. A little over 10 years have passed since the passing of Carmelo Imbriani, my former coach and wonderful person. This is the brother's book, a person beyond all logic and love for Carmelo. Thank you Gianpaolo, you are a source of inspiration. Thanks Carmelo, this goal is thanks to you and I know it for sure».
