Tommaso Augello and Nicolas Viola are leaving Cagliari: today their contracts expire, with the announcement of the non-renewal given last week by president Tommaso Giulini . But Antoine Makoumbou is also leaving: his transfer to Samsunspor, a team in the Turkish top division, is a matter of hours. There is an agreement on the price: a €1.5 million operation with the Congolese midfielder, whose contract with Cagliari expires in 2026, ready to sign a four-year contract for the new adventure.
The transfer could be finalized as early as this afternoon . Twenty-seven years old, Makoumbou arrived in Sardinia to strengthen the team after the relegation to Serie B in 2022. Starting as a mezzala, he quickly transformed into a playmaker, winning over Claudio Ranieri in particular. Also expected to leave last year, Makoumbou had instead earned opportunities and space in the 4-2-3-1 designed by Nicola.
Two youngsters are ready to join Sampdoria: defender Alessandro Pio Riccio, born in 2002, and striker Simone Leonardi, born in 2005, are on the home straight . Goalkeeper Simone Scuffet is also included in the deal with the Blucerchiati, returning (only in transit) from his loan at Napoli.
