The Suitable Areas bill is getting complicated in the Urban Planning and Industry commissions of the Regional Council. The opposition has in fact decided to abandon the session called to examine the thousand amendments presented, including that of the Council . And the reason is linked precisely to the maxi-correction of the executive : 47 pages presented at the last possible moment that the minority did not have time to study in detail before the vote in the commission. Hence the decision to leave the session.
In particular, the Forza Italia group leader Angelo Cocciu explained that FI «was present in the commission only out of institutional duty. When we saw the maxi amendment of the Council, we left the commission. FI did not present any amendment because we are absolutely against the bill of the Council: we have supported the Pratobello proposal from the beginning and we will continue to do so».
The request for a suspension to examine the text of such a delicate and important proposal for the future of the Island, Brothers of Italy reported, "was brutally rejected by the councilors of the majority who, called to order by President Todde, sought the most convenient of shortcuts to avoid addressing the issues raised by the 'Pratobello law' and by the opposition, whose amendments are to be considered unusable for the work of the joint Commissions".
