Tragedy occurred between Saturday night and Sunday in Grandate, in the Como area: two young motorcyclists, Fabio Crescitelli, 17, originally from Mamoiada, and Laerte Gauli, 20, from Luisago, lost their lives in a tragic accident on Via Mantero, an industrial area of the Como area .

The motorcycles—a TM Racing 125 and a Kawasaki Ninja 600— reportedly collided head-on or sideways along the straight road that runs alongside the Milan-Como highway . Rescue efforts were unsuccessful: the two young men died instantly.

Fabio worked as a mechanic in Oltrona San Mamette, while Laerte worked in Switzerland . They both shared a passion for motorcycles, often displayed on social media . Fabio was the son of Antonio Crescitelli, also originally from Mamoiada, the son of a former Carabiniere . Antonio had moved north years ago for work, like many other Sardinian emigrants, building a new life in Lombardy with his family.

Condolences from Mamoiada , the Crescitelli family's hometown: "A young life cut short is always a source of deep sorrow. Our condolences go to the Crescitelli-Meloni family." The Carabinieri of Cantù are conducting an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
