Tragedy in Alto Adige , where a 16 year old boy died in an avalanche while off-piste .

It happened in Plan, in Val Passiria. However, the accident, which occurred yesterday afternoon, had no witnesses.

The alarm was raised in the evening by family members due to the young man's failure to return . The search began immediately and shortly after 9pm the now lifeless body of the 16-year-old was found under an avalanche .

The avalanche danger along the border ridge is currently rated 3 out of 5 (considerable), after the snowfalls of recent days. This is the second avalanche victim in recent days in Alto Adige.
