They stamped their badge and left shortly after, as if nothing had happened.

The Palermo Prosecutor's Office, led by Maurizio De Lucia, investigated 101 employees of Rap, the company entirely owned by the Municipality which deals with waste collection, for absenteeism.

The carabinieri of the provincial command notified 18 of them of the obligation to report to the judicial police. They are accused of various types of aggravated fraud, false attestations or certifications and embezzlement.

The investigation began after the complaint of an official who filed a complaint complaining about the theft of fuel from the company's vehicles.

For weeks the suspects were followed and monitored, a surveillance that allowed 1,385 episodes of absenteeism to be ascertained. The investigators estimated economic damage for the company of almost 40,000 euros for an amount of 2,800 hours of absence.
