Pope Francis will remain in the hospital for a while longer: "I would have liked to be among you, but I am here at the Gemelli Polyclinic because I still need some treatment for my bronchitis," wrote the Pontiff in the text of the Angelus that he was unable to pronounce but which was released anyway.
"I thank you for the affection, prayer and closeness with which you are accompanying me in these days, just as I would like to thank the doctors and health workers of this hospital for their care: they carry out precious and very tiring work, let us support them with prayer!" asks Bergoglio, who also launches a heartfelt appeal for peace "in the tormented Ukraine, in Palestine, in Israel and throughout the Middle East, in Myanmar, in Kivu and in Sudan" .
The doctors prescribed complete rest , which is why the usual Sunday Angelus was missed.
"Today in the Vatican - the Pope recalls in the text he prepared - the Eucharist was celebrated, dedicated in particular to the artists who came from various parts of the world to experience the Jubilee Days. I thank the Dicastery for Culture and Education for preparing this event, which reminds us of the importance of art as a universal language that spreads beauty and unites peoples, helping to bring harmony to the world and to silence every cry of war."
