The fourth alleged smuggler of the boat wrecked in Cutro , in the Crotone area, at dawn on 26 February with dozens of migrants on board, was identified and arrested.

We are talking about Gun Ufuk, a 28-year-old Turkish man who, after the tragedy which cost the lives of 72 people (an unknown number are missing) had fled, making himself untraceable. He was traced to Austria.

A precautionary custody order in prison issued by the investigating judge of Crotone, Michele Ciociola, was pending on the man, after the validation of the detentions of the alleged smugglers. The other three arrested are a Turk and two Pakistanis, one of whom is a minor.

Ufuk would have had the task of leading the caique which, a few tens of meters from the shore, hit a shoal, throwing its human cargo into the sea. Furthermore, he would also have performed the functions of a mechanic, intervening several times when the boat's engine showed some problems.
