Tragedy in Vernio, in the province of Prato, where a 76-year-old man died overwhelmed by a parked car that suddenly moved and crushed him.
It happened shortly after 7.30 this morning: according to what the municipal police investigators were able to reconstruct, the man had recently parked the car, owned by his daughter, in the condominium ramp of the house where he lived, opening the trunk to load some items.
Suddenly, perhaps due to the handbrake not engaged correctly, the car began to move and overwhelmed the man.
Rescuers, carabinieri and municipal police arrived on the spot, but for the elderly there was nothing to do.
