Gabriela Mabel De Los Santos, the Uruguayan masseuse who claimed to have witnessed the alleged parties at Giuseppe Cipriani and Nicole Minetti's ranch in Punta del Este, was portrayed.
The woman changed her story before a notary in Uruguay with a sworn statement, claiming that she knew nothing about what was happening on the estate.
News of the formal act, according to Il Corriere della Sera and La Repubblica, reached the Milan Prosecutor's Office after the investigation was concluded. Between Friday afternoon and yesterday morning, Graciela's statements were transmitted from Uruguay to Milanese magistrates and immediately forwarded to the Quirinale Palace.
A few days ago, the pardon granted to Silvio Berlusconi's former dental hygienist, convicted in Italy for aiding and abetting prostitution and embezzlement, was confirmed by President Sergio Mattarella. After carefully examining the "voluminous" investigation file sent to him by the Milan Prosecutor's Office, the Quirinale found that there were no grounds to review the clemency order signed last February 18th and called into question following the journalistic investigation by "Il Fatto Quotidiano."
The President's signature on the decree dates back to February 18, but news of the pardon was made public much later, in April, through an exclusive on "Mi manda Rai 3." Then came the investigation by Il Fatto, which sparked a sea of controversy and venom. The main one, which targeted the Quirinale, was that it had wanted to keep secret the granting of a pardon to a highly controversial figure. This accusation was immediately informally rejected by the Quirinale, which preferred to refute it more clearly in a statement. "For the pardon decree in question, the Quirinale did not deviate from its usual behavior, without any unusual secrecy: in most cases of pardons, the Quirinale does not issue a statement due to the presence of sensitive information—illnesses, family matters and relationships, involvement of children, and other sensitive aspects—which must be duly protected from disclosure."
