Fifteen stab wounds delivered by one, ten by the other. You spit on the dying victim on the ground and even put an unlit cigarette on his face. Then, once at the seaside, macabre jokes about how the boy had been reduced to .
Less than two days after the murder of Christopher Thomas Luciani , the 17-year-old from Rosciano killed on Sunday afternoon with 25 stab wounds in a park in the center of Pescara, new details on the crime emerge. The Abruzzo newspaper 'il Centro' revealed them in today's edition.
The terrible details of the crime are contained in the arrest decree where it is underlined that the two 15-year-olds "in competition with each other" killed Christopher Thomas Luciani "with 25 stab wounds, causing torture and operating with cruelty, by kicking and spitting while he was lying on the ground lifeless » .
«What emerges - we read again - is the absence of emotional empathy with a fact of such unprecedented brutality, such as to rail against the body, going to the bathing establishment to swim in the sea, without calling for help or reporting the fact to the authorities, or rather chatting with macabre irony about the event that has just happened".
THE DEATH TRAP
The two arrested minors were framed by one of the friends (there were about ten in total) who reached Baden Powell park with them that evening, but did not go inside and did not participate in the murder. A trap would have been set for Thomas: an appointment at 4.30pm at the station, an initial confrontation in the bus terminal area with the victim, who was then forced to move towards the park, in a secluded area. "When I reached the point of view that allowed me to see the position they were in - said the witness - I saw Christopher on the ground losing blood and I immediately realized that he had stabbed him" . From his and others' story, a further detail emerges: the presence of a small gun, which was apparently shown by one of the two alleged killers, but which was not used .
THE MOVEMENT
The victim owed 250 euros to one of the suspects, reported other children involved in the affair when questioned by the police . " It had become a question of respect ," we read in the minutes. And when the kids were asked why one of the two, despite having no credit towards the victim and not knowing him, took the knife and launched the blows, the answer was " because they are friends ". From the reports it emerges that the creditor was a small-time drug dealer, as was the victim.
THE TALES
The reports of the interrogations of the young witnesses are full of stories with a strong emotional impact. The two would have told their friends about the stabbings, it is not known whether to brag.
There is also a risk of premeditation because there is talk of the knife already in the backpack and shown to the others already at the station, together with a change of clothes that will be used after the murder ; the other suspect seen with a small gun in his hand, and the attempts of one of the two suspects to intimidate the other kids, "while we were walking I think he said that this had to stay between the five of us" .
The shock of the other witnesses was evident: «I didn't react in any way. Thomas was making almost death noises and they told him to shut up... I was shocked, I didn't know what to do, I wanted to stop them but I didn't know how. While they were doing it, it seemed like they were no longer thinking about it ."
On the use of drugs, as a probable contributing cause of the events, one of the witnesses was clear: «I didn't smoke drugs. While we were together they did not use drugs. Afterwards they smoked weed, but not me."
THE KILLERS
Meanwhile, after the end of the interrogation, the two boys were transferred, one to the reception facility at the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila, the other to a similar facility in the center of Rome. They are two young people "from good families", one the son of a lawyer, the other of a sergeant from a barracks in the Pescarese area.
THE VICTIM
Thomas Luciani fled last Friday from the community of Isernia where he was ordered by the judges following a small conviction for petty crimes . The boy killed last night had therefore been in disarray for a few days. In the re-education program he had to attend a hairdressing workshop in Campobasso.
According to what has been learned in the last two years, the boy had also caused some problems to the social services of Rosciano, the town in the Pescara area where he had lived from the age of three with his grandmother after being abandoned by his parents .
