The summer wave has begun, but it does not cause much concern.

This was stated by Undersecretary of Health Pierpaolo Sileri to "Italy has awakened" on Radio Cusano Campus.

“We are facing a more widespread variant of Covid which, however, is not creating weight problems in hospitals ,” says Sileri. "Let's say a summer wave that I believe will also be self-limiting, which has already begun in other European countries and now also in Italy but which should not be viewed with fear or obsession".

Also because, observes the undersecretary, "unlike last year, most of the population is vaccinated and has taken two doses, with 70% also having the third dose". For this reason, in short, “ everything will be under control ”, but this also means that we must “ use the usual precautions ”.

Yesterday came the government decision on the masks . Obligation extended until September 30 on trains and buses, in hospitals and in RSAs. Instead, starting today, it falls in theaters, cinemas and on airplanes.
