Restaurateur no vax dies of Covid at 60: "He didn't want an oxygen helmet"
The doctors managed to convince him on the helmet, but it was not enough to save his life: the man suffered from obesity and hypertension
A no vax restaurateur from Marsala (Trapani) died of complications from Covid at the Paolo Borsellino hospital.
Maurzio Bellittieri, owner of the historic former Lido Signorino, was 60 years old and was at risk as he suffered from obesity and hypertension.
For several weeks he had been hospitalized in intensive care, had a wife and daughter.
He tested positive about a month ago and his condition immediately appeared serious. As his health deteriorated, he resisted doctors who wanted to put him in a ventilation helmet to support breathing. The doctors eventually managed to convince him, but it was not enough to save the life of the man who - very close to conspiratorial positions and no vax - had refused the vaccine. The 60-year-old later ended up in intensive care and didn't make it.
“I prayed for him until the end, but it didn't help”, said his brother Massimo, also a restaurateur.
