In a few days, rains and thunderstorms will return to most of Italy, the absence of which has been causing serious drought phenomena for some time. From 30 March to early April, according to 3BMeteo forecasts, temperatures will be in sharp decline and strong winds and snow will be recorded on the Alps and Apennines.

"After months of hegemony of high pressure, with only a few défaillance especially in the South - confirms the meteorologist Edoardo Ferrara -, now the situation is about to change radically. Arctic currents will spread over central-northern Europe and subsequently will target the Mediterranean, literally dismantling the anticyclone and finally bringing rains and thunderstorms to most of the thirsty lands of Italy, even to the North ".

"First disturbance arriving on March 30-31 - continues Ferrara of 3BMeteo.com - with rains and thunderstorms that in this first phase will particularly affect the Tyrrhenian side, but finally also Northern Italy, although above all the regions of Northeast. Initially several areas of the Northwest could in fact see little rainfall, however in the first days of April a further Arctic sinking should renew showers and thunderstorms more directly on these regions, as well as on the rest of the boot. All accompanied by a net strengthening of the winds first of Scirocco and Libeccio, then also Ponente and Maestrale with gusts sometimes exceeding 70-80km / h on the Tyrrhenian side, Sicily and Sardinia ".

The mild temperatures of these days will give way to the cold air from the north, with a significant thermal drop of even 8-10 ° C.
