The circular from the Ministry of Health was issued with updates on quarantine and isolation measures to stem the spread of the Omicron variant without, however, paralyzing the country.

Here is what the rules on the timing that come into force already today after the green light to the last Covid decree of 2021 by the Council of Ministers provide.

CONTACTS FOR VACCINATES - No quarantine for asymptomatic patients who have had contact with a positive but received the booster dose, or completed the primary vaccination course in the previous 120 days, or recovered in the previous 120 days. However, they are obliged to wear FFP2 type masks for at least 10 days. They will also have to observe a period of self-monitoring (with communication to the doctor in case of onset of symptoms) which ends on the fifth day. In case of high-risk contacts, health professionals must also perform daily swabs up to the fifth day.

If, on the other hand, they are symptomatic, the vaccinated or cured persons mentioned above will have to carry out a rapid or molecular antigen test at the first appearance of the symptoms. If still symptomatic, even on the fifth day following the date of the last close contact with subjects confirmed positive for Covid-19.

For those who have completed the primary vaccination cycle for more than 4 months and still have the Green pass valid, if asymptomatic the quarantine lasts for 5 days, provided that at the end of this period a molecular or antigen test is performed with a negative result. .

THE POSITIVES - The positives but asymptomatic "can return to the community after a period of isolation of at least 10 days from the date of collection of the positive swab, at the end of which a molecular or antigenic test is performed with a negative result".
Symptomatic patients, on the other hand, "can return to the community after a period of isolation of at least 10 days from the onset of symptoms accompanied by a molecular or antigenic test with negative results performed after at least 3 days without symptoms".

NON-VACCINATED - For those who are not vaccinated or who have not completed the primary vaccination course (i.e. who have received only one dose of the two scheduled vaccines) or who have completed the primary vaccine course for less than 14 days, the current measure remains unchanged. 10-day quarantine from the last exposure to the case. To conclude the quarantine they will have to do a molecular or antigen test with a negative result.

FROM 10 JANUARY - From Monday 10 January, new rules will come into force on the extension of the reinforced Green pass (that of vaccinated or cured and not issued with a "simple" negative swab) on all public transport where the FFP2 mask is already mandatory. But also for hotels, festivals and fairs, ski resorts, indoor and outdoor sports events and competitions, restaurants and bars even outdoors, congresses, cultural, social and recreational centers for outdoor activities.

For the moment, the line of the Super Green pass extended to all workers does not pass, but in the first days of the new year new decisions could be made in a Council of Ministers.

OTHER MEASURES - Reduction of stadium capacity from 75 to 50% and indoor stadiums from 50 to 35%. There is also the agreement on controlled prices for FFP2 masks, which are mandatory on several occasions: they should cost one euro, it will be up to Commissioner Figliuolo to reach an agreement and set the price.
