The investigations by the Carabinieri into the murder of Giuseppe Barone, the 79-year-old pensioner found dead in his apartment in Ispica, in the Ragusa area continue .

The Ris of Messina are carrying out the surveys in search of elements that can allow the identification of the murderer (or murderers).

The victim was found lifeless in her bed on Monday by a family member. The man was alone in the house, where he lived with his 97-year-old mother who had been hospitalized for a week.

Separated, father of three children, he had been seen by relatives and acquaintances on Christmas day .

According to the investigators it would be a homicide : the pensioner had signs of violence and bruises on his face and on the back of his hand .

It may have been a thief who broke into his home to kill him.
