A fire broke out this morning around 5.30 in a protected structure for the elderly and mentally disabled in Parma .

The balance of the fire at the "Casa di Arianna", managed by the Avitas cooperative, is one dead and 14 people left intoxicated, seven men and seven women aged between 49 and 79. Of these, three people are in serious condition . The other nine, including an operator of the facility, are still under observation in the emergency room of the Maggiore hospital in Parma.

A 62-year-old woman in the facility lost her life.

The 118 vehicles and firefighters are still operating on the site of the fire and have begun the first investigations to trace the causes of the fire.
