A one-day-old newborn was kidnapped from a clinic in the center of Cosenza and taken away by a woman and a man, who were stopped shortly after by the Flying Squad as they drove away in a car with the baby. The baby is fine, her kidnappers have been arrested.

The kidnapping occurred around 6:30 p.m.: the little girl was in a room in the clinic with her mother, a housewife of about 27 years old, and her mother-in-law . According to the reconstruction made by the Police who investigated the kidnapping, a short woman entered, her face partially covered by a mask and her hair tied in braids. She introduced herself as a child care worker, saying she had to take the child to the pediatrician. Then she took the little girl and walked away.

The mother and grandmothers of the little girl, not seeing her return, after a while became alarmed and asked for information: this is how the kidnapping was discovered. From the images recorded by an internal camera of the clinic you can see what happened in the corridor of the facility. You can see the woman approaching a baby egg, reached immediately after by a man with a hat on his head . The two try to put the baby in the egg but failing, they walk away, she with the little girl in her arms and he with the egg in his hand.

After the alarm was raised, the police cars and the Flying Squad immediately arrived on site, as well as the Scientific Police for the surveys. The story immediately seemed strange and now investigators will have to clarify it, especially regarding the motive . The newborn's parents belong to a normal family: the mother is a housewife and the father, twenty-nine, is an employee of Conad and they have a 6-year-old son.

Relatives and friends of the parents, immediately after the kidnapping, posted the photo of the little girl on social media with the invitation to get in touch in case of sighting. The alarm was immediately passed on to all law enforcement agencies. Roadblocks were set up at the exits of the city: a patrol of the Flying Squad intercepted the car with the kidnappers and the little girl on board, stopping it and securing the little girl and blocking the couple , thus marking the end of what was becoming a nightmare.
