Accident in Pontremoli, in the province of Massa Carrara.

A bus full of students went off the road on provincial 37 : there were about twenty passengers on board. Almost all high school students who were returning home from Pontremoli after school.

Two of them were rescued in red code: one was taken by helicopter to the Cisanello hospital in Pisa for head trauma; the other, in red code only for dynamics, was transferred to the Pontremoli hospital. The driver is also serious .

The bus, according to the first reconstructions, ended up off the road at a hairpin bend, sliding along an escarpment and stopping about 400 meters below the road: the trees would have helped to slow down its descent. Among the hypotheses under consideration there is also that the driver may have been blinded by the sun.

In addition to the doctors and firefighters, two fire helicopters and an air ambulance attended the scene.
