The Sardinian Nicola Lener was appointed head of delegation for the 2024 G7 in Italy: the assignment arrived during the meeting of the council of ministers on May 1st, following the "out of tenure from the post of plenipotentiary minister at the CDM-General Secretariat», reads the note issued by Palazzo Chigi.

Born in Cagliari in 1968, Lener held the position of Italian ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. And now he has the task of organizing the summit of the seven most industrialized countries in the world.

Italy, as organizing State, will have the responsibility of proposing and identifying priorities for action and the related sectors of intervention, hosting and organizing the technical and informal preparatory meetings for the summits of Heads of State and Government, as well as all ministerial meetings, prepare the drafts of the supporting documents and the final texts, including the communiqué adopted by the leaders.
