The Imperia Public Prosecutor's Office has registered the partner of Manuela A., the 43-year-old woman currently in prison on charges of manslaughter for the death of her two-year-old daughter last Monday, as a suspect.

The 42-year-old man is charged with the same crime. His home, where the woman says she spent the night with her daughters before the girl's death, has been seized.

The Prosecutor's Office has decided to investigate the man in light of the statements made by the woman yesterday during the interrogation to validate the arrest, when she said that the three little girls (including two other daughters aged 10 and 9) remained at home with him on the morning of Sunday 8 February, while she had gone to Bordighera to carry out some errands in the countryside and to do the shopping .

The woman left around 8:30 a.m. and returned around 12:00 p.m. , an absence of approximately three and a half hours. Manuela reportedly said she had known this person since she was fifteen and then lost contact when she started a family. A couple of months ago, she had started seeing her again.
