Tragedy on the road yesterday around 7 pm in Vignola, in the Modenese area, where a motorcycle, after colliding with a car, ended up on a sidewalk near a parking lot, hitting and killing a 52-year-old woman, Monica Pioppi, who was walking with her partner and her daughters. One of the latter, 17 years old, was injured and is hospitalized, not in danger of life.

Consequences also for the motorcyclist, a 47-year-old originally from Casalecchio, in the province of Bologna, while the motorist involved in the accident is unharmed.

On the spot, in addition to the 118 with two ambulances and the air ambulance, the Fire Brigade and the Carabinieri who are now reconstructing the dynamics of what happened. "A tragic fatality that throws us into despair", the words of the mayor of Vignola Emilia Muratori.
