There is a new suspected case of monkeypox , this time in Ancona.

A 24-year-old Italian resident in France was hospitalized in the Infectious Diseases clinic of the Ospedali Riuniti university hospital.

The young woman "made an access to the emergency room in the early afternoon - reports the health facility -: she presented with diffuse erythema with vesicles and papules, breathing difficulties, headache reported having had fever in the previous days".

The doctor of the clinic indicated the hospitalization, "the 24-year-old is currently in good health".

"Examinations are underway - explain the Ospedali Riuniti - aimed at excluding differential diagnoses with other exanthematous viruses while waiting for the reagents for the molecular diagnosis of Mpxv through PCR, whose arrival is expected by Tuesday 31 May". Yesterday afternoon the woman's son, aged 4, was also visited in the emergency room of the "Salesi" maternal and child hospital in Ancona for a "mild skin rash; no other signs or symptoms". In this case, the emergency room doctor did not consider it necessary to hospitalize the child who was discharged and transferred by ambulance to the home of the grandmother.
