A double homicide occurred in Pieve di Camaiore (Lucca). A 63-year-old man, Piero Moriconi, shot his 52-year-old wife, Kathy Andreoni, and their 24-year-old son, Mirko, with a hunting rifle in their home.

Neighbors raised the alarm, and the Carabinieri and police arrived on the scene and arrested the man. Witnesses said there had been disagreements within the family, but nothing that suggested such an outcome.

When law enforcement arrived, the 63-year-old was found on the roof of the house and reportedly offered no resistance. "I got rid of them," he reportedly told investigators before being arrested.

The murdered young man reportedly posted a video on social media in which he claimed his father would rather have him "dead than gay." And the 63-year-old's failure to accept his son's homosexuality, which his mother defended, is one of the hypotheses being examined by investigators to explain the motive for the incident.
