The Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies Roberto Calderoli was sentenced by the Court in Bergamo to 7 months , with a suspended sentence and not mentioned in the criminal record, in the new trial for the offenses against the former Minister of Integration Cecile Kyenge .

Calderoli on 13 July 2013 defined the former exponent of the Democratic Party as an "orango" during a rally at the party of the League in Treviglio, in the Bergamo area.

The charge was racially aggravated defamation. Kyenge had not brought a civil action, while the Cassation had annulled the previous convictions in the first and second degree.

In December the crime will go into prescription.
