When he attempted to kill his wife he was "in a state of sleepwalking". This has always been the defense of a 58-year-old from Braone, in the Brescia area, currently on trial.

That same night - it was January 4, 2021 - the man, after waking up, threw himself from the window of the house, suffering serious injuries.

«I was sleeping when, at a certain point, I felt something on my face. I reacted and fought with this figure that I didn't recognize. I felt a finger in my mouth and bit it. I found myself on the ground and saw that my husband was there from behind. I yelled at my son that dad wanted to kill me. My husband turned around and looked like a different person: a madman. Then he jumped from the third floor", said his wife, who in the meantime had become ex, heard in court.

The court expert explained in a report on the documents that that night the husband "could have been under the influence of non-REM parasomnia or nocturnal epileptic form".

The trial has been adjourned until February 22nd.
