First he shot his 76-year-old wife with a shotgun. Then he, 72, turned the gun on himself and opened fire.
This is a first reconstruction of what happened in Prato, where a married couple was found dead in their home.
The death would date back to yesterday, perhaps after lunch. The couple would have been found in the kitchen, with the TV on: the woman sitting on a chair, the man on the ground beside her and with the rifle beside her.
It was the firefighters who broke down the door after the alarm raised by family members of the 76-year-old. They hadn't heard from him for hours.
On the spot in addition to the firefighters also the carabinieri.
