The Supreme Court has crystallized what was now evident for some time: Pasquale Concas killed the Hungarian prostitute Arietta Mata and for this reason he will have to serve 20 years in prison, the same sentence already decided by the Bologna Court of Appeal. The Roman magistrates rejected the appeal presented by the defense lawyers, Marco Pellegrini and Roberto Ricco, confirming the sentence pronounced in the second instance for the murder of the 23-year-old girl, found dead in January 2018 on the Castelfranco Emilia railway.

Definitive penalty

The judges justified the conviction against the 52-year-old , a native of Villagrande but raised in Tortolì, describing him as "cynical and cruel given the manner of the crime: he brutally killed a 23-year-old girl, subjecting the corpse to havoc in order to to simulate suicide ". The magistrates had emphasized that Concas's personality had already emerged from the previous crime (the 1994 assassination in Olbia of Loredana Gottardi, a 74-year-old woman slaughtered after a robbery for 700,000 lire, resulting in a final sentence of 28 years of imprisonment), as well as from the investigation into the murder of the lawyer of Modena Elena Morandi , which took place in September 2017. The autopsy revealed fractures and bruises of a contusive and traumatic nature that had occurred in rapid succession. Investigators have shown how the former professional, found lifeless in the bathroom, was not looking for a way out of the fire, which was set shortly after, but by his killer.

The other process

Concas left Ogliastra at a very young age. Here he worked as a laborer on provincial road 27 and as a watchman in the Sa Figamoru nightclub. Currently imprisoned in the Volterra prison, on October 25 the serial killer will be judged with an abbreviated rite for the murder of the Emilian lawyer. According to the investigations of the agents of the flying squad, Concas beat her to death because he wanted to rob her of the little money she kept at home.
