The investigating judge of Milan Fiammetta Modica has ordered, at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, a measure of interdiction from entrepreneurial activity for the owners, mother and son, of Glg srl , the company producing "Tiramisun" with the Mascherpa brand in the context of the investigation for manslaughter into the death of 20-year-old Anna Bellisario. The young woman died on February 5, after ten days in a coma due to anaphylactic shock caused, according to the hypothesis being examined, by traces of milk , to which she was strongly allergic, contained in a tiramisu sold by the manufacturing company as vegan, a dessert that the young woman had eaten on January 26th during a dinner, in the company of her boyfriend, in a fast food restaurant in the centre.

As part of the investigation, in recent months, a unique technical assessment was also carried out, with qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses, also in the presence of the suspects' consultants, as well as the experts appointed by the Milanese prosecutors, which concerned the remains of the dessert eaten that evening by the girl but also, as a comparison, another vegan tiramisu from the same batch and a tiramisu, also produced by the same company but not vegan. And this was to verify whether there had been, this is the hypothesis, contamination in the food during production.

The event that "caused the death of Anna Bellisario" is "attributable, according to the prosecution, to the erroneous use of mascarpone in the production of the cream intended for vegan tiramisu ", writes the Milan prosecutor Marcello Viola. "The quantity of casein found in the product in question - explains the Prosecutor's Office - indicates that mascarpone was present in the preparation as an ingredient and not as a 'simple' contaminant and that, therefore" it was "fatal for the victim", who was highly allergic with milk. The investigative activity "made it possible to identify the cause of the incident in the tiramisu partially ingested by the victim, due to the presence of beta-lactoglobulins despite the product being sold as 'vegan'". The investigations revealed "immediately", the prosecutors clarify, "multiple critical issues regarding the production procedures" at Glg srl, "the training of personnel, as well as the prevention, elimination and/or reduction of dangers which had a causal effect in the determination" of death.
