An accident, a dramatic fatality. This is how the episode that took place before dawn in Livorno is immediately described. A 23-year-old was run over by a train in the Antignano area and died instantly.

From a first reconstruction, shortly after 5.30, the young man was crossing the tracks when it was still dark and was hit by the convoy. Investigators currently exclude the hypothesis of suicide, but investigations are still ongoing by Polfer.
